More often than not, most customers complain about having to replace shutter magnets because the plastic casing surrounding the magnet has cracked. Shutter magnets are attached to your window sill or shutter frame with two pan head screws. When replacing damaged shutter magnets, it is best to re-install the magnet using a hand held screw driver. This is an easy task, since the holes where the old screws once were already exist in the window sill or frame. It is not recommended to use a screw gun because the screws can easily be over tightened. This can lead to cracking of the plastic casing over time. Included with each shutter magnet order are pan head screws used to attach the magnet to the window sill or frame. It is important to use this type of screw since it distributes the force of the screw over a larger area of the plastic casing.
