Sloppy louvers are aggravating and unsightly. First check to determine whether or not your shutters were manufactured with tension screws. If you do have tension screws, then it is a simple matter of tightening these screws.
If your shutters do not have tension screws, then you have three alternatives for placing tension back into your panel.
The first method would be to add tension screws to your panel. The second method would be to add tension springs to your panel. These two methods are not recommended for those that do not possess above average woodworking skills and have about $300 worth of special tools lying around.
